Remember Mad Libs? Here we go.

1) Singular Noun __________

2) Name__________

3) Adjective __________

Remember that time you ate a _singular noun_?

Remember that time you and _name_ did that thing that you’re not allowed to talk about?

Remember that time you got a little crazy and ended up _adjective_ on your neighbor’s lawn?

Remember Happy Hour with Toni Ferrara? I vaguely remember it being great; but let’s just say that after the Julep and the Cosmo, I took a cab to the theater and saw EITHER Sex and the City 2 or Shrek 4. I can’t remember, and plus, you never know with CGI these days.

If you’re like me, you had trouble just remembering which words you chose for the blanks. So, in honor of Memorial Day, this Fitness Friday is all about keeping your memory fit. Get it?

-Play mind games—not just the fun kind that get people to do what you want, but also the kind that stimulate your brain. Games like Sudoku actually increase brain activity; it’s a mental work out. If you really want to push yourself, try writing the numbers with the wrong hand. That’ll really get your synapses firing.

-Exercise. I could tell; you were all, “There he goes with his loose interpretation of the word ‘Fitness’.” Not this time. I’ve mentioned before that exercise, especially cardio, improves circulation and can reduce stress levels (you probably don’t remember, though). Well, the improved circulation delivers more oxygen to your brain, and it turns out that oxygen is good. It makes your brain more efficient at filing stuff away for you to recall later.

-Drink up. Now, Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, so feel free to kick back and relax with a glass of wine. Conveniently, alcohol—in moderation—helps improve memory function. Obviously, too much will have the opposite effect and you’ll end up _adjective_ on the lawn sharing a _singular noun_ with _name_ and you won’t even remember why.

On a serious note, don’t forget to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives serving our country. Whoa okay. That’s about as long as I can stay serious. Have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Richy T.—forget me not; I’ll be back next week.

left to right: AJ, Audrey, and Katie

There are always two sides to every story! As we head into Gemini, the astrological sign of duality, the stylists would like to congratulate these ladies on their totally-trendy, two-sided looks! AJ pairs Gypsy with a denim pencil skirt and plaid peasant top for a look that is both casual and sleek. Topped off with a belt and some great shades, AJ’s outfit is vivacious and versatile. Audrey’s Safari wedges bring a sexy splash of attitude to her casual denim and cotton layers. Unexpected? Yes. Appreciated? Definitely. Katie highlights the pearl undertones of her ultra-glossy Fantasias with a cream, gauze top and matching cinch. The matte finishes in this outfit show off Fantasia’s softer side as well as Katie’s eye for detail!

These looks straddle the line between day and night, and the results are perfectly balanced. Ladies, you look fantastic!

Okay. It’s Fitness Friday afternoon and despite the impending weekend, I’m still working extra diligently to help the stylists describe the June shoes—hold for applause. I know: we’re all excited.

I haven’t been to the gym in over a week and that is the opposite of a miracle because the gym is my favorite place to distract myself from …well…everything. I need to get back to working out because Miss USA up there is making me feel guilty. How great does she look in her Azures?

This Fitness Friday, I’m taking it back to where it all started: actual fitness. If you think heels make your legs look great, you’re right. You know what else makes your legs look great? Leg exercises. Here are three of my favorites:

The recumbent bike. Recumbent is just a fancy word for ‘laid-back’ and that is precisely why I love this one. You can just sit there a pedal away while you text, or read, or question why certain people thought it was okay to wear that to the gym. When you remember that you’re actually working out, try pedaling as fast as you can for 30 seconds and then go back to being laid back for a minute. You’ll be surprised how sore this will make you–in the good way.

Scissor Kicks. This one’s fun because, again, it involves being laid back. Actually, it involves laying on your side. I’m a big fan of exercises that let me relax. So, once you’re on your side, lift both legs off the ground and kick like you’re swimming. (You don’t have to plug your nose or anything) Just make sure you alternate which side you’re laying on; count each flutter and do a few sets of 50.

Calf Raises. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: a hot pair of heels will work your calves like a ranch hand, but doing a little calf exercise at the gym will actually help your heels feel more comfortable–especially if you spend all day on your feet. Grab some weights–nothing heavy because this is still a pretty laid back exercise–and raise yourself up on the balls of your feet. I find that doing it to the beat of my music makes me look and feel cooler, but that might be just me.

I’m not saying that Rima, Miss USA up there, does all or any of these exercises, but clearly, she’s doing something. These might be worth a try.

Have a great weekend, ladies!

Richy T.–laid back.

Left to right: Danielle, Monique, Sarah

Even for evening, spring looks should be free and easy. According to our stylists, these lovely ladies are doing it right! Danielle created a hot outfit with her Anyas, some perfectly matched jewelry, and a clutch that introduces an unexpected hint of pink. The look is creatively straightforward and pulled together! Monique’s look is super versatile, incorporating a necklace and earrings that echo her ruby red Wynn deVelles. Her khakis and navy top break up the matching pieces and keep the look eclectic. Sarah’s white-on-white ensemble is a delightfully clean canvas to showcase her Azaleas and coordinating black polish and bracelet.

These looks take elements of “matchy-matchy” and really make them pop with the right accessories! Great job, ladies!

I run around pretending I can make anything work. Not in the Lady Gaga way, but in the “can I hit up the mall in this outfit?” way. Rest assured; I always stroll through the mall looking stellar. One time, this random girl took a picture with me. True story. However, while I am deluded enough to believe I always look amazing, I don’t always feel that way—so I cheat. I’m a cheater. This Fitness Friday is your cheat sheet for those times you don’t feel fit but must insist on looking that way.

Cheater Hint # 1: Safety pins. I promise. I rarely leave the house without a dozen of them keeping everything in place. Sure; I have issues getting through airport security, but I travel locally looking insanely put-together—if I do say so myself.

Cheater Hint #2: Superficiality times ten. Breech beauty is overrated. If you can face yourself in the mirror feeling—and looking—good, then who cares if you look a mess from the side or from the back. I’m currently styling a music video, and half these people look a mess if you see them from the side or back. See hint #1; binder clips work, too.

Cheater Hint #3: Vests. The vest is a woefully overlooked garment. It slims your waist without broadening your shoulders. Hourglass much? I’m a boy though, so I have to rely on V-necks. Hint for the guys.

You can attribute this week’s Fitness Friday to my experience on set at a music video. I’ve been here a few days, and I’ve learned a lot about how I’m right most of the time.

Richy T. – I need a vest.

How fitting! The winner of the Mother’s Day Momtest, Carmen, selected Carmen as her very first shoe! Isn’t she working it? Her daughter, Michelle, a budding photographer, sent us these spectacular shots! We’re loving the way these bright yellow sandals complement her outfits without being matchy matchy.

We wish Carmen the very best of luck as she studies for her citizenship test and prepares for a fresh start. Looking gorgeous is an excellent way to begin! Carmen, Michelle, and all of us here at ShoeDazzle would like to thank our fabulous FaceBook fans for your votes.

Thanks to everyone who helped spread the word—ShoeDazzle reached 60,000 FaceBook Fans on April 29th! As promised, we donated 1,000 pairs of fabulous shoes to DonateMyDress.org and The Cinderella Project.

These are just a few of the gorgeous girls who will ShoeDazzle at prom! This week’s Wrap Up is dedicated to all the young ladies who will receive ShoeDazzle shoes through these generous organizations, and to all of you who helped make ShoeDazzle part of this unforgettable night! We are more than honored!

If you wear ShoeDazzle to your prom, show us! Send your prom pictures to TheCorner@ShoeDazzle.com!

Is it just me, or does the rapid-fire frequency of Fitness Friday demand that I loosen my interpretation of “fitness” on a weekly basis. This week, I’m stretching “fitness” to include “preservation.” My mom is bonkers—and by “bonkers” I mean “young for her age.” So, I thought it might be nice to give the young-at-heart some tips on looking as young as they feel…and act…and wish they were. Sound good?

1) Optics: beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but without the right highlights, your eye can be older than you hope. A little white liner along the lower lid will give you a fresh and lively look, even if you’re still recuperating from a champagne brunch. Ditch the under-eye bags and opt for something a little more dazzling…bags and purses…coming soon. You didn’t hear it from me.

2) Berry Crazy. The high antioxidant content of fruits like blueberries and cranberries have been shown to reduce cognitive decline. No clue what I’m talking about? Have some berries.

3) Laugh. Did you see that joke up there. One line up? I wasn’t being mean; I was trying to make you laugh. Why? Because laughter promotes healthy circulation, and healthy circulation means all sorts of fun things like well-oxygenated blood, glowing skin, lack of headaches, and being alive. Score!

4) Speaking of Oxygen: I suggest you invest in a hyperbaric chamber to sleep in. It works for Madonna, according to some very reputable trashy magazines. If that’s not in your budget, then skip item four.

5) Wear hot shoes. Dressing too young can make you look older, but killer shoes instantly rejuvenate any outfit. I’m not just saying that because I work for ShoeDazzle—although that’s a big part of it.

This weekend, make your mom feel young. Seriously, that’s the best gift you can get her. Breakfast in bed? Overrated. Flowers? Yawn. “World’s Best Mom” pin? Okay, that one’s pretty cool. Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms and everyone who has a mom!

Richy T—where’s my purse?

Bunny’s mom is a retired educator who taught for over 30 years and continues to inspire her daughter in fashion and in life. This mom was actually the woman who told Bunny about ShoeDazzle!

Michelle’s mom moved to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic and is studying for her citizenship test later this year. She’s building a new life, and that’s definitely an occasion for new shoes!

Danielle’s mom is just as fashionable as her daughter. Although you might not guess it, this mom is about to celebrate a milestone birthday. As Danielle put it, women need hot shoes like men need sports cars!

The stylists haven’t yet decided on three finalists to win a year of ShoeDazzle in our Mother’s Day Momtest, but here are a few stunning moms whose style grabbed their attention! Could one of these mothers be our winner? We’ll see!

If you think your mom deserves, needs, or wants a year of ShoeDazzle, tell us why! Send your entry to TheCorner@shoedazzle.com, and be sure to include a picture of your gorgeous mom! Today is the last day to enter! Our three finalists will be announced tomorrow, so don’t forget to vote on Facebook!
