Hi Vanessa!  What is your official  job title here at ShoeDazzle?

Vanessa:  I am the Sr. Manager of Marketing & Consumer Insights.

Favorite perk about working here?

V:  It ‘s being on top of fashion trends without event trying.  We’re constantly surrounded by it!

Yes.  ShoeDazzle is very fashion forward in a high paced environment!  How would you best describe your style?

V:  Always effortless.  I add a pop of color or something edgy every now and then to keep it interesting.

Effortlessly chic is what you’re known for in the office.  Now, let’s talk about your flawless skin!  What’s your beauty regimen?

V:  It’s a really simple one.  Cleanse, moisturize, BB cream for the day.  I’m all for the multi-purpose stuff.  The only thing I’m really particular about is SPF!

Good ol’ SPF.  The best anti-aging remedy.  So…you recently got married (and to a doctor)!  What’s it like being so young and married?

V:  Honestly, it’s not much different than not being married.  We’ve known for a very long time that we’d spend the rest of our lives together.  When you know, you know.  All that’s changed is we had a huge party and a legal document that says it happened.  And the being married to a doctor part?  Well, he’s a urologist, so we have interesting dinner conversations.  In all seriousness, I love talking to him to put my work stress into perspective.  I’m selling hot shoes, not saving lives.

Yes, two very different types of stress. What’s are some of your favorite spots to visit?

V:  My favorite spot I have traveled to is on the Big Island in Hawaii.  My husband and I saw a tiny sign with an arrow pointing to the southern most tip of the US.  We followed those signs for miles in complete darkness until we got to the biggest waves we’ve ever seen.  It was simultaneously scary and peaceful.

Sounds a-mazing.  What are your next travel plans?

V:  We’re finally going on our honeymoon later this year!  The destination is a surprise.  He’s planning it and not revealing anything until we get to the airport.  I got a good one.

You really did!  He better let you know what shoes you’ll need to pack!  What are your shoe must-haves of the moment?

V:  I’m loving the sneaker wedge.  They’re super easy to wear and instantly adds so much to your look.

They’re a trend that we’re really loving!  Are there any funny stories you want to share?

V:  My husband built me a ridiculous sized shoe closet when I first started working here.  Sweet gesture but I think he was sick of all the pink shoe boxes piling up!

Wow.  He has about 500 brownie points right now!  What’s something we wouldn’t know about you?

V:  I used to be a dancer.  I even auditioned for the Laker girls.  It was a long time ago but it’s still a secret dream of mine.

Love it!  You’ll have to teach us a dance class soon!

Tom Ford debuted his Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection in London this past Tuesday. Inspired by a mixture of ethnicities burgeoning in his homeland, the collection evoked hints of  Mexican and Native American culture. From the fringe detail, ponchos, and floral embroidery the richness of each group was definitely present. We were inspired, by look one worn on model Liya Kebede, to incorporate bold statements in our wardrobe. If fashions worn around the globe get you enthused check out the Clive, Margaret, and Purple Brick Road for a fresh vibe.

Thursday'sRichyTBlog_Feb20Nobody asked me, but my pick for the month is a shoe that’s so cool, it makes everything hot look lukewarm—a sexy little slip-on called “Plea.” There’s at least 2 Chainz that run rampant across this shoe, not to mention ribbons of gold and spots of cheetah print. It kind of reminds me of Versace.

My absolute fave aspect of this pair is that they work together, even though the left and right are not the same. It’s like me and my co-workers; we collaborate and coordinate, but don’t imitate. We’re different. Yeah, we’re different.

I’d also like to give a shout out to all my size 11s out there, because you, and you alone, made it possible for me to don this ’Dazzle myself—with only minimal foot damage…probably. I’ll deal with that when I’m old; for now, I’m sold.

Usually, I go for high-tops like you go for heels, but best believe we can pull up to the scene with our high ceilin’s missin’ and still feel like fashion addic’s. Roll up your favorite patterned skinnies, put on your Pleas, and  you’re ready to “Hear Me Roar” (you’ll notice a theme).

Style Phile: These Pleas link well with aqua, cream denim, and even more graphic cheetah prints. I encourage all the DIY-hard dazzlers out there to make your Pleas your very own.

Richy T. – I’m different, and I got friends in low Pleases.
