All things Betsey, all the time. The ShoeDazzle gals attended the coveted Betsey Johnson show last night, but not before taking a peek backstage. It was a wave of crimped hair, inspired by Betsey herself, according to the Aveda makeup and hair artists primping the lovely models, who sported sparkling red lips and tons of eyeliner.
The show began with a bang as Cyndi Lauper performed, ending with her classic ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’; dedicated to her friend Betsey, she admitted to scooping up one of Betsey’s designs circa 1980 before her first big European tour, hoping to make a splash overseas. As the models marched out to The Kinks, each decade from the ‘70s was represented, with music and style. Flashy, racy, over-the-top designs that Betsey is famous for came in ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s styles and the models dipped and twirled with props like scuba masks and Barbie doll hats.
The show equaled a party unlike any other, and we have to say, Betsey looks amazing at 70! We hope her keen eye for the wild ways of offbeat fashion never changes, but it doesn’t look like she’s going anywhere anytime soon! Happy birthday, Betsey!
