
Happy Cinco de Mayo, or “Cinco de Drinko” as it is more commonly known. This holiday commemorates Mexico’s unlikely victory of the French at the Battle of Puebla. We love to celebrate with a classic margarita made from fresh ingredients. Here’s how!
What You’ll Need
- Cocktail shaker, jigger, citrus press
- Ice
- Tequila blanco
- Simple syrup
- Cold water
- Limes
- Triple Sec
- Kosher salt
Step One
We like to pop our marg glasses in the freezer so they’re extra frosty. Prep by slicing limes in half, juicing into a glass or bowl.
Step Two
Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Combine all ingredients into cocktail shaker. Add a pinch of salt.
Step Three
Shake shake shake! Shake for 10-15 seconds max. We like to count Mississippi’s and add a little hip shake for full-body cardio.
Step Four
Rub a little lime around the rim of your margarita glass and dip into a plate of kosher salt. Shake off excess. Fill with ice and pour your margarita in. Enjoy with sweet treats and friends. Salud!
Classic Margarita
2 oz tequila blanco
3/4 oz simple syrup
1/4 oz cold water
3/4 – 1 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz Triple sec
Pinch of salt
