Spring is officially here, and it’s time to say bye to those pea coats and knee-highs, and say hey to spring dresses and sandals! This past season’s trends were neutrals and earth-tones, but we’re over that color palette. We’re ready to get things poppin’ in BOLD colors that stand out amongst the neutrals. Here’s a guide to adding a little POP to your spring look.
White is one of my favorite colors (or lack thereof) to rock during spring and summer. Not only is it a great contrast to my skin, but you can rock it with just about any color. This is where the fun begins (rubs hands)! The Aleen gladiator sandals in green were just the right amount of pop to make the Open Sleeve Dress come alive. Green is not typically one of my faves, but I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the green was such a fun color to play with, and I love how the shoe instantly becomes the focal point of the look. This dress is so fun and flirty, and has that Grecian Goddess look which pairs nicely with a pair of glaminators.
I finished the look with a cross body bag to complement the bold shoes. You want to avoid introducing too many different colors, as this will throw off your look. Don’t get me wrong…I’m a fan of color blocking, but it is easy to overdue it. A neutral bag really softens the bold look, and brings it all together. Top it off with a soft pink lip for a feminine touch.
Let me tell you…navy blue is LIFE! I absolutely love this color, but it’s difficult to rock year-round. Adding a touch of bold color helps to make this color right for any season. This Open Back Jumpsuit fits me so well because it accentuates the right curves, and gives me the elusion that I’m tall. I sometimes love to play with different shades of the same color, like these shades of blue in the bag and shoes. The Zipper Collar Blazer in white adds the perfect contrast to the blue jumpsuit.
The Odele sandals are just right for the spring. You can dress them up or down, and wear them day or night with ease. This light blue denim is right on trend and perfect for the denim-on-denim look. Complete the look with a bright orange or pink pedi.
You know those people that live in the color black? Well, I’m one of them! I fight the urge to wear all-black-everything ALL YEAR LONG. The struggle is definitely real, but when I’m in a playful mood…I make it a point to add some color. This is a nice play on color blocking in a simplistic way. This Twist Back Blazer in skydiver blue is everything! This shade of blue is not your normal royal blue tone which is why it pops so well on this Off-The-Shoulder Knit Dress. Don’t get me started on how well this dress fits and feels. I decided to introduce a red to contrast the blue blazer. The black dress and clutch brings this look full circle without doing too much.
The Galya single-sole sandals in red are a must-have. Not only is this the perfect classic sandal for any occasion, but they are also super sexy. Finish the look with a soft neutral lip and minimal accessories. Voila…you’re done!
Which one of these looks do you see yourself rocking this season?
