How To Be the Best in Online Shopping: Styles for Your Body Type

Have you ever asked yourself, “how will this fit” while shopping online? If so, then this might be one of the most helpful articles for your next shopping spree.

Thanks to online shopping, you can now refresh your wardrobe by just a click of a button. What makes it even better is that you can pick the trendiest styles, while sipping on a glass of Chardonnay. As an avid online shopper, I will go over a few key steps you need to follow in order to be a “pro” at online shopping.

First things first, know your shoe size and clothing size. Your second rule is stick to outfits and styles, suitable for your body shape. Since I’m 5’3 and petite, I often struggle finding pieces that complement my body type. For footwear, I prefer a classic, pointy stiletto because it elongates my legs and adds a few extra inches to my height (and confidence). The Amandalyn pumps in blue are to die for and have my favorite silhouette in a pump. Same rule applies to dresses. Pick a dress with a fairly tight fit that flares out, and you can rock it day or night . I’ve picked the mesh cut out fit and flare dress in black because it’s playful and flirty, yet classy and suitable for the office.

Shopping online can be tricky sometimes, so picking out simple, staple pieces are a total must. I tend to buy boots or chunky heels because I know they will be comfortable, especially when walking around the office or out with friends. I also always stick to neutral hues like: ivory, cream, grey, and olive as they go well with my skin tone. This olive green jacket and the classic loose top are so comfortable and chic. When wearing a loose top, I immediately choose a pair of skinny jeans so I don’t appear heavier than I actually am. Make sure to pick what works well for your body type.  If you’re hesitant to buy jeans online, don’t be; get creative! If they end up being too long, just roll them up outwards or inwards depending on the shoes you want to wear. In this case, my jeans were slightly short, so I chose the Celia boots to hide the length, plus, how cute are they?! To me, simplicity goes a long way.

I know that being a tall girl isn’t always easy, but that doesn’t mean you need to stress about shopping online! I tend to avoid buying jeans online due to inseam issues but ShoeDazzle offers amazing boyfriend jeans which are meant to be cuffed and rolled! However, a gal can’t go without a LBD. I’m sporting the Utility Shirt Dress that features a belt so that you can cinch your waist. This is wonderful for both slim and curvy figures, whether or short or tall. Being tall myself, I try to find dresses that hit mid-thigh so that I can still show off my legs. Also by finding dresses that fall above the knee, you still keep your elongated shape. I like to spice up this basic, but fabulous dress with some gladiator boots! I’m rocking Prunella which is also available in black. One of my favorite features about this sky-high sandal is the gold zipper detail, whic really makes this sandal look rich without breaking the bank. Throw on a few bangles and some cute earrings and you’re ready to have heads turn – and even some glancing up at you, my tall friend!
