Inspired by…Karla Deras

As you all undoubtedly know, Kim Kardashian provides style inspiration in no short supply –– but her to-the-nines at-all-times style certainly isn’t easy to match. In those desperate times when you can’t figure out anything to wear (also known as getting dressed…every single morning), heading over to our style blogger bookmarks always gives us great guidance for more everyday looks.

One blog we find ourselves screen-shotting for ensemble inspiration is Karla’s Closet –– the style diary of super hot SoCal girl (and part-time jewelry designer), Karla Deras! While most style bloggers seem like drops in a giant internet ocean, Karla’s consistently sophisticated, risk-taking, feminine style has her floating all the way to the top. We especially love her mix of vintage finds and big-ticket items –– just like us!

For this round of “Inspired By,” we picked the parts of Deras’ look we loved the most: the bows on her flirty sandals; her door-knocker bamboo hoops; and the relaxed fit of her boyfriend jeans, then mixed them all up with own picks and pieces. Though we really loved the vintage feel of Karla’s patchworked and distressed denim, finding a pair that fit a similar bill was too tough to manage. In the end, we decided to zero-in on our favorite part of them by picking up the pink-and-red palette of the knee patch in our muscle tee instead –– sure, Karla’s bright all-white version looks amazing, but we just had to salvage those soft colors somewhere! Headlining it all, or should we say, footlining, is one of our favorite ShoeDazzle wedges: the Gabi! Kind of like a sartorial superhero, Gabi saves our get-up from looking like it’s destined for the men’s section. With a pretty pink bow and a sky-high heel, our tom-boy look of slouchy boyfriend jeans and a sleeveless crew neck, gets all the girl-ification it needs!
