How would you describe your personal style?
It is hard to give my style an exact name since I try to be unique. I like to wear what makes me feel good and it also depends on how I’m feeling that day. But I would describe it as a mix of my two style icons, Nicole Richie and Olivia Palermo. They exemplify what I love about West and East coast fashion. Nicole Richie brings out my LA bohemian chic and Olivia Palermo brings out my New York edginess.
Who or where do you draw inspiration from?
My inspiration for style can be traced back to my mom. The confidence she exuded in her style choices made her the most beautiful women in the world to me. In fact, most of my vintage pieces I feature on my blog come from her closet. Nowadays, this confidence has led me down my own style evolution. For me, it’s important to remain individual and not look like everyone else. I am a born and bred Angeleno and that is what most of my style emulates. It’s inspired by the casual, easy, bohemian feel of living by the beach. However, having lived in New York for seven years, my style can also be inspired by the eclectic way New Yorkers dress. Lastly, I get truly inspired by reading fashion magazines and some of my favorite fashion blogs.
Which brands are you following during NYFW?
After seeing a couple shows this past week at NYFW, I have a new found love for Mara Hoffman and Tracy Reese. The prints and colors that both designers used were just truly amazing!
What trends are you looking forward to trying?
My style is usually subdued in neutrals so I’m definitely going to be trying more prints and bold color this upcoming season.
What’s your beauty regimen?
For beauty, my motto is if it works, why change it! The biggest compliment I receive about my makeup is my flawless complexion. I start with MAC Primer then use Estee Lauder foundation that gives the perfect amount of coverup. I always use NARS blush in Deep Throat, plus a bronzer to make my skin look sun-kissed. I add Lorac black liner on my upper and lower lid and I never ever forget mascara! For my lips, I literally use the limited edition Viva Glam MAC lipstick by Niki Minaj everyday! I thought I lost it during NYFW and almost cried. Luckily, I found it hidden in my bag. My friends know I could never part with it!
