With a girls’ trip to Vegas on the horizon, I’ve been searching for a new poolside look. Call me a sucker for a flawless, expressive head-to-toe swim ensemble, but it’s inherent! I’m a Cali girl born and raised. Let’s just say impromptu accessorizing and cookie-cutter ensembles (think solid colors, straw sun hats and cork wedges) are big no-no’s for me.
After browsing the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photos and finding nothing suitable (pun intended), I looked elsewhere for inspiration. Enter: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami. Rife with tanned and toned bombshells wearing little to nothing, the 2014 collections presented me with just what I was looking for—looks that were easy on the eyes, heavy on the prints, and finished with just the right amount of punk rock inspiration from the ʼ80s and ʼ90s.
You’ll notice a lot of hairspray and hair gel…well that my friends is just the icing on the innertube. So, without further ado, here is a recap of the looks that have floated to the top of my list.
