It’s Gemini and Cancer season…AKA, the best time of year! No shade (literally), but this is the time of year when you party day-and-night, and the least you have to worry about is whether your sandals will take you from day party-to late night drinks with the gals. Summer is non-stop sun and celebrations. So if you’re celebrating a birthday this season…here are some tips on what to wear for your summer b-day!

Being a summer baby and living in So-Cal, I am spoiled by the sunny weather. I definitely take advantage of it every birthday by having brunch with the girls at a trendy brunch spot. Outdoor patio seating is a must! Can you think of a better way to start off your special day than with some eggs benedict, mimosas, and the best company?! Since it’s still early in the day, I definitely want something that looks effortless, but can still make me stand out. This Printed Romper is so much fun! Not only does it give you room in case you over-do it, but it also shows off your legs. I paired this look with the electric blue Carmen pumps which I’m obsessed with! Put on some simple jewelry, and light make-up, and I’m ready to get my birthday going-sharing good laughs with the girls and gossip, of course!

Red is always a solid choice for your birthday. You will stand out while still being in line with the rest of the party. As a teenager I remember never wanting to be the one that was overdressed for my own party, so a pop of color is a great way to still be the star of the day. I love these shoes because you can wear them with so many other outfits. They aren’t the typical “birthday shoe” you would only wear once.
For my birthday I usually keep it small and casual. I’m a big fan of a dinner with friends or something fun, like bowling. A lot of times movie theaters in your local town will rent out a theatre for surprisingly not that much money. They will let you pick the movie too which is awesome! One year it was me and a bunch of my friends in PJ’s watching First Wives Club in our own theatre. Something else I do every year on my birthday is send flowers to my mom. It sounds weird, but honestly I didn’t do a whole lot on the day of my birth… she did LOL! Now that I have my own kid, I truly understand the meaning of a birthday and I’m happy it is a tradition I have always done.

My birthday is just about the only time of the year I go ALL out! Over the past few years, I’ve really tried to out-do myself on my b-day plans. For my 21st birthday, I threw the ultimate Project X party at my parents house, and just about got us kicked out of the neighborhood. Since then, I’ve toned it down (just a little), and I really look forward to making memories with great people. This year, I’m headed off to Miami with the girls to have some fun and sun at the beach with my best beaches (HAHA)! This striped dress was the perfect body con to show off my curves down Ocean Blvd, without doing too much. I love to rock bold colors when I go to Miami, so the Kamaly heels in yellow were perfect. They added just the right amount of color to my look, and they were comfortable enough to get me through the mid-day bar hopping. I think I’ll rock this tiara all weekend long!
