Summer is in full swing and what better way to express your beauty than to glam yourself from face to feet? It’s Maile here, founder of beGlammed for my second summer beauty series with ShoeDazzle! Be sure to check out my first post on how to Nail Your Perfect Pedi. One of my favorite things about summer beauty is that skin is in, so soften your makeup and choose a statement feature that stands out. I tend to wear less makeup on my face and more swag on my feet, ShoeDazzle swag that is. As a professional makeup artist, I know how a subtle accent on your face can leave a memorable impact on your woes, leaving them wanting to see more and cop your style too!

A trend that you’ll see me rocking all summer long is a bright bold lip in the purple family. Lips are in and my go-to summer look has been a major trend year-over-year. Shades of magenta, fuchsia, berry and violet will be poppin’ on lips and shoes throughout the summer. Swag out your feet with a pair of ShoeDazzle’s floral Rachael heels to match your bright summery lips. You can rock these heels with boyfriend jeans or a flowy summer dress, great for Sunday brunch or a night on the town.
Did someone say glitter? Be dazzled and beGlammed with faux freckles made of gold and rose hues of glitter sprinkled across your cheeks and nose. Ditch your traditional powder highlighter this summer and apply opalescent refined glitters on your t-zone for a beautiful trendy highlight. It’s the new strobe! Pair your dazzling makeup with ShoeDazzle gladiator sandals in the gold Caeli. Metallic shoes are a great way to match your outfit to your makeup without going overboard and to add a little extra glow to your look.
Embrace blue eye makeup this season! The mermaid trend is in full effect this summer and I’m seeing it worn in every different way, shape and form, from bold opaque pops of cobalt blue across the eye lids, leaving no flesh untouched, or as my personal fave, a striking blue eyeliner rimmed around the top or bottom of the eye. Statement lashes bring this trend to life and a simple way to make your lashes standout without fussing with falsies and glue is to load-up your natural lashes with a layer, or three, of your favorite mascara then pinch small clusters of your lashes together before the mascara fully dries. This looks great against any blue backdrop on the eyes. We all know mermaids have fins and not feet, but there’s no doubt that any mermaid would look swimmingly in a pair of ShoeDazzle’s Earlina denim wedges, inspired by the beach.
About Maile: Beauty and fashion industry veteran, Maile Pacheco, is beGlammed’s ethnically-diverse, female Founder.
