Thirsty Thursday – Minty Hot Cocoa

Good vibes are flowing this season, with a little help from this refreshing winter wonder. Say hello to our Minty Hot Cocoa: there’s seldom something better than a good ol’ cup of classic hot cocoa, but this little peppermint twist does the trick. Perfect for get-togethers and definitely worth a try during this holiday season!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED (serves 2)

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ounces peppermint schnapps
2 ounces tequila

HOW TO MAKE

  • In small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and cocoa powder.
  • Stir in milk, heavy cream, and vanilla; heat on low and stir until well blended. Remove from heat and add peppermint schnapps and tequila.
  • Top with whipped cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick and mint leaves. Enjoy!
