WHAT YOU’LL NEED (serves 1)
2 oz apple cider
2 oz rum
1 tsp grenadine or maraschino cherry syrup
1 large apple
1 lemon
ice
HOW TO MAKE
To create the apple tumbler/cup the drink will be served in, take a large apple and horizontally cut the smallest, level portion possible from the bottom of the apple so that the apple will sit flat (careful not to cut too much, or the drink will seep through the bottom). Cut from the top as well, making sure that the cut will create the widest opening for the cup. Scoop out the core and the insides of the apple, and squeeze a lemon over the exposed fruit to ensure the color does not turn.
Pour all liquid ingredients into a separate mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until well mixed and chilled, and then pour into the apple tumbler. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve.
