Thirsty Thursday – Pineapple Sangria

More than what we’re sipping, the best part of having a drink with friends is the get-together. The wine we have and the spirits we savor are second to the stories we tell and the laughter we share. But we can still enjoy a little drink here and there, so here’s our take on everyone’s favorite social drink: the sangria. Make a batch and toast to your time together!

More to love: new arrivals for a night out are here.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

1 750 ml bottle of white wine (Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, etc.)
1 orange sliced into wedges
1 lemon sliced into wedges
1 fresh pineapple diced into 1-inch chunks
1/4 cup of sugar
4 cups of ginger ale or lemon lime soda
1/2 cup of coconut rum
1 bunch of fresh mint leaves

HOW TO MAKE

Pour wine into a large pitcher, squeeze in the juice from the lemon and orange wedges (don’t discard wedges), add sugar, and stir. Toss in fruit wedges (removing seeds) and pineapple, then chill overnight.

Add soda, rum, and ice to pitcher just before serving. Muddle clean mint leaves into each serving glass and pour sangria over leaves. Enjoy.
