Trend Spotted: White Bottoms

Concrete

I know what you’re thinking…this trend is cool, but how am I supposed to incorporate it in my everyday life?! Believe it or not, rocking white bottoms doesn’t have to be so hard. We’re highlighting a few simple tips to help you tackle the concrete jungle, and still look fierce.

The lug-sole trend has actually been around for quite some time. We can date back to the 90’s era, watching girl’s strut in their chunky platforms and mini skirts. In fact, I can remember a Spice Girl or two rocking this trend with streaks and pigtails in their hair (don’t try this at home)! It’s no surprise that we get so many questions about how to rock a shoe that stands out this much. We get it…the white contrast can be tricky to pair with different color palettes, but the key is to focus on one of the colors.

Whether it’s the black or red upper, or the white sole, you can use that as your guide. Here, we focused on the black as a starting point, and built our look from there. The black and white stripes of this sweater are simple enough to pair with the shoe, and casual enough that it doesn’t clash. Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color to your outfit, by adding a bold skirt. This can be a mini skirt, shorts, or a simple bodycon midi. Royal blue tends to work well with a black and white palette in my opinion, so this was perfect! Then to give your look the Spring treatment, we added a boldly colorful statement necklace. What do you think? Would you attack this trend?
